Prehistoric
Duncan’s very large powder-blue egg hatches! And out pops, Prehistoric!
Bird House is a drawing I did many years ago.
I know, InkTober is an ink drawing done each day during October. But I kind of like to fudge those lines and make it a different challenge for myself. So this year, my challenge was to write more stories that accompanied the drawings. That has made this InkTober a super huge challenge, but one that has moved me along on my quest for visual storytelling.
Now about this drawing. I included it because it is one of my favourites. And it being an older piece meant that it was buried by some of the newer ones. It is special to me because it was the first one that paired something realistic with a surreal landscape. And that was all I needed to create the flexible storytelling environment that you see in my work today.
Another reason I like this drawing so much is that it is a simple sweet scene of domestic bliss. Another similar one, albeit different, is Moon Love.
