Blanket and Pillow

It is a rare day when I head for the pillow, blanket and slippers. But lately, it sounds good. Still, my work ethic gets in the way. And I dislike staying in pjs past 9 a.m. It makes me feel kind of lazy.

But that is not what this drawing is about. It is about trying to find comfort. There are days in our lives when we need to take cover and look for what will make us feel better.

And though the “go-to” blanket and pillow are present, the character is not comforted. It is that sad blank stare of something missing and of a profound loss.

A cartoon character can make sadness, really sad.
