Drawing Series: Heads and Hands

Drawing Series: Heads and Hands is the second session of Figurative Study. A series of four, two-hour classes devoted to drawing the human form with special attention paid to the hands and the face. We will work from a live model.

Learning to Look: We will continue our study of the fundamental principles and techniques of figure drawing. Building upon our knowledge of the human anatomy – skeletal and musculature. We will begin with shorter gestural poses. The poses will them become longer allowing for a deeper investigation into complex areas of the human form, the face and hands. Each class will build upon the teachings of the previous session.

This session is part II of Drawing Series Figurative Study.

Class lessons will include:

  • comparative/proportional sighting
  • line quality, employing hard edges and soft turn of form
  • tone and value studies
